Lapping Tide

20.5cm in diameter, this contemporary interpretation of the traditional craft of Dorset Button making conveys the gentle beauty of lapping waves on a glistening seashore marked by the seaweed and shells the tide brings in. Previously exhibited at the ‘Surge’ Exhibition at Sage and Salt Studio in Petersfield, this unique mixed-media piece was made using a variety of yarns, fibres and found items, beads, up-cycled jewellery and haberdashery, and cordage made from garden-grown plant materials.
